Primary Responsibilities
HDR's Water/Wastewater Engineer will: serve as a project manager for water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping systems, pipeline, distribution systems, and/or collection systems, conducting concept, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Engineers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines; prepare and review scopes, budgets, and schedules for water and wastewater projects; serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in water and wastewater engineering projects, performing assignments and resolving issues of greater scope and complexity; prepare analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and distribution and collection systems; prepare detailed plans and specifications for water and wastewater systems and determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection; prepare and analyze process and hydraulic calculations; coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule and within budget; work closely with the Area Manager, Transportation Business Group Manager, Transportation Program Manager, Section Managers, and multiple Project Managers for project reviews; implement quality control reviews for completed designs; and review work of and mentor junior engineers and technical staff as needed. Required Qualifications A Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 2 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
Required experience must include experience in: water/wastewater infrastructure projects; water quality analysis; biological treatment processes and systems; physical and chemical treatment processes and systems; statistical analysis; AutoCAD Civil 3D; Revu BlueBeam; and Microsoft Office.
Must hold Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (from any US jurisdiction).
