(M&S) is seeking an engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in water resources engineering (drainage design, stormwater management design, floodplain analysis, coastal engineering) to join our New York City office. As the successful candidate, you will perform a variety of design tasks to support civil infrastructure and stormwater related projects. M&S is looking for an individual who is interested in playing an instrumental role in the firm's growth in New York City. The ideal candidate will have experience working on New York Metro area transportation projects for agencies such as NYSDOT, MTA, NYCDDC, NYCEDC, NYCDOT, and PANYNJ. In addition, they will have experience managing other engineers or teams to deliver design packages and contract documents, including reports, engineering calculations, specifications and complete plan sets. Responsibilities Perform planning and design of hydrology and hydraulics for a variety of infrastructure project types including: Highway/ roadway Rail Airports Ports Bridge rehabilitation and replacement Site design and land development Flood resiliency Storm water management Example Experience / Capabilities Strong understanding of hydraulics and hydrology in engineering design, including runoff calculations, open-channel hydraulics, culvert design, detention/retention structures and bridge hydraulic and scour analysis Experience using various stormwater computer design software Prepare drainage designs and perform stormwater modeling and analysis considering control of water quantity, quality and groundwater recharge Technical understanding of stormwater management requirements related to state and municipal, stormwater Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) programs Experience preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) including erosion control plans and reports to support SPDES permits Work with design teams, environmental staff and regulatory agencies to support the design and permitting process for various projects Software Experience Microsoft Office Suite MicroStation AutoCAD Autodesk Civil 3D Pond Pack Storm

Infoworks ICM Requirements BS degree in Civil Engineering 5 to 10 years' experience in civil engineering with a focus on water resources Professional Engineer (PE) in New York State preferred Preferences Advanced degree in a related field Experience focused in New York City metro area Experience managing junior engineers or an engineering team Leading technical design for water resources projects or disciplines within multidisciplinary projects
