Environmental Field Technician Job Description As an Environmental Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in industrial cleaning and emergency response activities. Your responsibilities include processing drums, performing industrial cleaning, and being an active member of the emergency response team. You will work in diverse industrial settings, such as power plants, chemical plants, and manufacturing facilities, ensuring that operations are conducted efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Process drums and perform industrial cleaning tasks. Participate as a team member in emergency response activities. Work efficiently and safely, adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain cleanliness in work and break areas. Load, unload, set up, and break down equipment as required for each job. Operate and maintain equipment to ensure safe performance and efficiency. Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or issues. Adhere to corporate policies and standards, including equipment operation and maintenance. Perform tank cleaning, general construction, equipment decontamination, and vehicle maintenance. Complete daily time sheets and ensure accurate equipment preparation. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding safety, quality, and integrity. Essential Skills High school graduate or GED equivalent. One year of experience in environmental, construction, or contracting work preferred. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Capability to work in various weather conditions and environments. Strong mechanical reasoning ability preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement Experience in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skid-steers, bulldozers, and forklifts is preferred. 40-hour
HAZWOPER
certification is advantageous. Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment. Why Work Here? Crews usually consist of 3-5 people, including a driver, equipment operator, and technician. The role requires physical stamina, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders up to 200 feet.
