Job Description

Overview Holiday Tours, Inc., a company that values honesty, integrity and dedication to excellence, is seeking a full-time, self-motivated Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic for night shift (typically 7pm- 4am).
A successful candidate:
Minimum of 5 years experience as a mechanic, preferably a diesel mechanic Posesses a record of good performance, attendance, safety & teamwork Is proud of their abilities to do a job right the first time Is mechanically minded, experience not necessarily required With minimal supervision is capable of performing intermediate and advanced maintenance/repair on heavy-duty commercial vehicles (motorcoach experience is a plus) Is able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State and Company policies. Possesses their own tools (Starter Tool Box program available) Is proficient in spoken and written English Is a high-school graduate (or equivalent) Is able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State and Company policies. Physical/medical requirements Must pass a pre-employment drug screening No alcohol or drug-related violations within past 5 years Must be able to routinely lift from 50-100 pounds Key responsibilities Enable the safe and efficient transportation of driver and passengers. Perform a broad range of motorcoach maintenance, service, and repair tasks. Travel off-site to repair a disabled motorcoach. Test-drive motorcoach to confirm repairs (CDL a plus). Perform maintenance and repair on company & customer vehicles. Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment. Explain repairs and issues and provide great customer service. Plan repair procedures using All data and experience. Test the functionality of parts and systems in conjunction with service procedures. Perform basic care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, tire repairs, and tire rotation. Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts. Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on all vehicles. Prepared to get additional certification as needed. Willingness to learn with hands-on training. Help keep repair shop and tools clean and organized. Keep a professional appearance. Properly clean any area of the vehicle in which a leak was repaired, test drive, and visually inspect to ensure no comebacks Perform a vehicle scan report, print, and attach to each repair order when the vehicle is in for a drivability concern prior to work starting and after a test drive. Document the work description on the repair order and sign off on each line of the repair order. Document out mileage when test driving is necessary to verify repairs. Arrive to work by your scheduled time to ensure no scheduling conflicts with work being brought in for you to perform. All time off requests, including late arrival time, extended lunchtime, or leaving early must be approved by management at least 5 days prior to the event. Quality work ensures that the customers return for future repairs and maintenance. Poor quality ensures they return as a "comeback" that costs you and the company time and money.
