Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tool Fabricator for a contract opportunity in Pinellas Park, FL.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for using a range of materials, including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials, to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes.
  • Repairs and fabricates dies and metal tools for our manufacturing facility.
  • In this role, you will be required to interpret designs, cut and shape tools and dies, and assemble the completed parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
  • Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
  • Design jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of tools.
  • Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
  • Setting up and operating machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
  • Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
  • Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.
  • Inspecting finished dies and form tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
  • Sets up and runs CNC machining centers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Accredited High School Diploma or
GED. WORK HOURS
  • Full-Time
