Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day maintenance operations within a warehouse and distribution setting. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with experience troubleshooting facility systems, responding to service requests, and supporting warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, refrigeration equipment, and material handling equipment in an industrial or warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on warehouse facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, and mechanical equipment Troubleshoot and repair warehouse infrastructure such as dock doors, conveyors, pallet jacks, racking systems, and refrigeration/freezer units Complete preventive maintenance tasks and respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner Coordinate with outside vendors for facility repairs, inspections, and ongoing maintenance services Assist with safety inspections, compliance preparation, and facility readiness initiatives Track maintenance activity, equipment issues, and repair updates through ticketing or CMMS systems Support small facility improvement projects, warehouse setup changes, painting, signage installation, and general repairs Partner with warehouse operations teams to minimize downtime and maintain safe working conditions Understanding that with this being a smaller warehouse they may be asked to help wrap, pack and load pallets in trucks. Maintain strong awareness of OSHA and warehouse safety standards
Qualifications:
3-5 years of facilities or maintenance experience within a warehouse, industrial, manufacturing, food distribution, or similar environment Experience performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting facility systems Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or mechanical systems Familiarity with warehouse equipment and environments, including pallet jacks, dock equipment, and cold storage areas Experience managing work orders and maintenance requests through CMMS or ticketing systems preferred Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking software Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests Excellent communication skills and dependable follow-through Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days preferred Trade school certification or technical training is a plus
