Family Nurse Practitioner Sterling Heights, MI 48314 Contract Contract Job Summary We are seeking an NP to work part time at their own schedule to see Skilled nursing , assisted living and rehab patients. The NP will be credentialed to be able to do televisits and see patients in office too per their schedule . Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history intake, and physiological evaluations. Manage acute and chronic conditions by developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and administering injections with aseptic technique. Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, and basic airway management; assist with procedures like catheterization and radiologic interventions when needed. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and data management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital settings including ICU, Level I & II trauma centers, neonatal units (PICU), and post-acute care facilities to ensure seamless patient transitions and discharge planning. Support clinical research initiatives by collecting data, participating in clinical trials, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards. Engage in triage activities in urgent care or emergency room environments; assess patients presenting with acute pain or infectious diseases; manage ventilator settings and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation. Qualifications Valid certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current state licensure. Proven experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care (ICU), or trauma centers; Level I & II trauma center experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology; capable of performing physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations. Experience administering injections, suturing wounds, performing phlebotomy, and managing airway or ventilator support. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments including ICU settings or urgent care clinics; experience with hospital-based procedures like spinal taps or dialysis is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics such as pain management, geriatrics, family planning, addiction counseling or nutrition. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and infection control standards; familiarity with telehealth platforms is a plus.
