Farm & Creamery Assistant Sustainable Organic Dairy

About the Role We're hiring a Farm & Creamery Assistant for both full-time and part-time positions to support our pasture-based organic dairy and artisan cheese production. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role for someone who enjoys meaningful work, takes pride in doing things well, and wants to be part of a small, hardworking team. This position includes a wide variety of responsibilities across the farm, creamery, and farmers markets. The work involves extensive cleaning and sanitation, repetitive lifting, working with animals, and careful attention to detail. You'll play a key role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, food safety, organization, and craftsmanship that go into producing exceptional cheese we are proud to make. We're looking for someone who is dependable, communicative, coachable, and genuinely interested in sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and artisan food production. The right candidate likes physical work, works well with others, follows detailed instructions carefully, and brings a positive, professional attitude to the team every day. Responsibilities This is an all-around farm assistant position that may include: Working with cows and assisting with daily animal care Assisting in the creamery with cheesemaking and production tasks Supporting farmers market setup, sales, and breakdown Washing and sanitizing molds, equipment, tables, and floors Following strict cleaning and sanitation protocols Maintaining organization and cleanliness in the creamery and aging cave Packing and labeling cheese for deliveries and markets Assisting with mobile fencing setup and pasture moves Assisting with watering and moving cows Helping wherever needed as part of a small collaborative team Milking cows Who We're Looking For Highly dependable, punctual, and hardworking Strong communicator who works well with others Detail-oriented and able to maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards Comfortable receiving coaching and following detailed instructions Physically fit and comfortable performing demanding physical work daily Able to lift 40+ lbs repeatedly and stay on your feet for long periods Positive, professional, and easy to get along with Interest in organic farming, sustainability, artisan food, or agriculture Experience in food production, farming, animal handling, laboratory work, or sanitation is a plus, but not required College education or other demonstrated professional experience is appreciated Schedule & DetailsFull-Time Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-4pm $25/hour Paid holidays and PTO Hands-on training and educational opportunities in organic cheesemaking Support toward becoming an ACS Certified Cheese Professional (optional) Part-Time 1-3 days/week with flexible daytime scheduling within our work hours (Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-4pm) Shifts typically 4-6 hours Great for someone looking to be part of a hardworking, mission-driven team How to Apply Please email us at info@northskyfarms.com with a short note about yourself, your background, and why you're interested in the role.
