Fast Track Diesel Technician Intern - Full-Time (July 2026 Cohort) Foley Equipment vision insurance, parental leave, paid holidays, 401(k) United States, Kansas, Colby 1080 South Range Avenue (Show on map) May 16, 2026 Cohort Begins Mid-July 2026 | Colby, KS Launch your career as a Diesel Technician-no prior experience required. If you're looking for a hands-on career with strong earning potential and long-term stability, Foley Equipment's Fast Track Program offers a direct path into the diesel industry. In just 12 weeks, you'll gain paid training, real-world shop experience, and the opportunity to transition into a full-time Caterpillar technician role. Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and northwest Missouri, with over 90 years of industry leadership. About the Program This is a full-time, paid 12-week internship designed to fast-track your entry into a technician career.
Start Date:
Mid-July 2026 (exact date to be confirmed) Phase 1: 6 weeks of paid classroom and lab training Phase 2: 6 weeks of paid, hands-on shop experience Work alongside experienced technicians and dedicated mentors Receive Caterpillar dealer-specific technical training Travel may be required, including 3-4 consecutive weekdays for off-site training during the program Upon successful completion, you will be eligible for consideration for a full-time technician position. What You'll Learn Diesel equipment systems and fundamentals Shop safety procedures and best practices Diagnostic and troubleshooting basics Tools, processes, and technician workflows Real-world experience working on heavy equipment What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Strong attendance and reliability Ability and willingness to learn technical skills in a structured program Interest in building a long-term career in diesel technology Ability to successfully complete program-related technical and aptitude assessments What Sets You Apart Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience (school, hobbies, or work) Strong work ethic and problem-solving mindset Curiosity and eagerness to learn What We Offer Paid training and hands-on experience Mentorship from experienced technicians Opportunity to transition into a full-time technician role Tool and toolbox program (yours to keep after 2 years of full-time employment following program completion) Competitive pay 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance starting Day 1 Paid holidays, PTO, and parental leave Physical & Working Requirements This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
These functions may include:
Lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds, with or without assistance Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods Safely operating tools and equipment Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements Final candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment contingent upon successfully completing a post-offer, pre-employment process.
This process may include:
