Summary Play a vital role in keeping our operations running by ensuring livestock receives the nutrition they need, right on schedule. As a Feed Delivery Driver, you will safely and accurately load and deliver feed to assigned customers, working closely with dispatch to meet daily delivery priorities. You will also serve as an extra set of eyes for our fleet, identifying and communicating maintenance or repair needs to help keep equipment reliable and operations moving smoothly. This position is a piece rate position and is paid $0.62 per mile completed, with average earnings ranging from $80,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year, guaranteed minimum wage laws apply. Annual bonus (variable depending on performance) as well as overtime may be available. Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate delivery of feed according to dispatcher scheduling. Perform a pre-trip truck inspection according to a DOT sheet, reporting any deficiencies to proper fleet mechanics. Ensure the correct weight of feed is loaded into the truck and the truck and correct weight is delivered to the farm locations. Accurately operate boom to cleanly direct the feed into the holding bin assuring that feed is not spilled onto bin or ground, report spills and problems to the Mill Manager or dispatcher. Ensure accurate recordkeeping of fuel purchases, trip tickets, daily logs and time sheets, no hold and feed pick up. May need to climb truck (15 ft) to direct loading and occasionally uses a #5 sledgehammer to remove stuck feed as necessary. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Education and Experience High School or equivalent. Class A CDL license. 2+ years of CDL A driving, preferably delivering feed. Reading, writing and math skills. Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors In a stationary or moving position on a wet or moist, dry or dusty, or dirty, or greasy floor with metal or plastic grating surface. Must have the ability to climb stairs, upon equipment, tractor and trailer, catwalks and work from various ladders. Noise exposure level of >110 dB. Light intensity range of 5 PPM of ammonia vapors, caustic detergents, lubricating oils and other chemicals found in a live poultry processing operation. May be required to wear disposable coveralls and disposable footwear covering for bio-security purposes. Personal protective equipment /devices as required by Perdue.
