Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. This position requires up to 100% travel to customer sites and is responsible for the installation, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of our specialized CNC grinding equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, exceptional planning and organizational abilities, and a dedication to delivering outstanding customer service. We are looking for a self-driven professional who can operate independently while representing our company with integrity and technical expertise. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose and perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on Campbell Grinder Company (CGC) machinery in accordance with OEM specifications. Evaluate necessary repairs, procure required materials, and ensure timely and efficient installation. Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) services on CGC equipment to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity. Accurately document all services performed and communicate findings to customers through detailed Field Service Reports. Manage and submit personal travel and expense reports in accordance with company policies. Maintain a reliable service vehicle, possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and meet U.S. citizenship requirements for site access. Uphold a clean, professional appearance and demeanor while representing CGC at customer locations. Demonstrate a solid understanding of
FANUC CNC
controls, including Series 15i or later, with knowledge of PMC functionality. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Service Manager.
Knowledge & Necessary Skills Required:
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics for effective troubleshooting and repair. Ability to analyze and interpret ladder logic diagrams for diagnostic and maintenance purposes. Strong overall understanding of machine tool systems and operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Basic computer skills required. Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.
Education & Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on technical experience with machinery or related equipment. Minimum 1-year of Electrical troubleshooting experience preferred. Troubleshooting skills. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
