Field Technician

Overview:

As a Service Technician, you'll help deploy and maintain next-generation fixed wireless infrastructure across multiple regions, working at heights, outdoors, and on advanced wireless and networking technology. This role offers in-house tower climbing certification, travel opportunities, on-call rotation, overtime pay, and employee stock options, giving you ownership in the future you're helping build.

What You'll Do:

Wireless Installation & Field Service Install, align, optimize, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade wireless platforms including Tarana, Cambium, Ubiquiti, Aviat, and Intracomm. Complete residential and commercial installations and service calls. Conduct site surveys and signal testing to ensure connection quality and reliability. Use RF diagnostic tools including multimeters, spectrum scanners, and RF alignment equipment. Maintain accurate documentation and field records. Tower, Site & Network Infrastructure Climb communication towers (post-certification) to install and maintain antennas, radios, cabling, grounding, and safety systems. Support microwave backhaul, remote network sites, and tower inspections. Work with DC power systems (12v-48v), including batteries, backup/solar power, and grounding. Networking & Cabinet Support Install and troubleshoot Mikrotik routers (primary) and limited Netonix switching gear. Run Ethernet and fiber patch cables for site cabinets and network builds. Interpret diagrams, maps, and technical documentation to execute field work. Travel & Community Representation Travel for multi-day projects supporting network builds and expansions. Represent Rango at outreach events and local meetups, helping educate customers and communities about our technology and mission. Required Skills & Experience Technical background in telecom, fixed wireless, WISP, networking, or related field. Experience with fixed wireless equipment (Tarana/Cambium/Ubiquiti/Aviat/Intracomm a plus). Working knowledge of Mikrotik routers and basic switching. Understanding of DC power systems, grounding, and safe power handling. Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions. Valid driver's license and ability to travel. Available for weekends, overtime, and on-call rotation. Strong communication and customer service skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly. Nice-to-Have Experience with WISP networks, RF alignment, spectrum analysis, microwave backhaul, fiber splicing (conceptual or hands-on), or solar/DC power systems. Tower construction, site builds, or backhaul deployment exposure. Pay:

$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
