Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and supporting the organization's financial health. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate audits, and contribute to strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar systems. Conduct journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping to record financial transactions accurately. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing detailed reports and performing variance analysis. Assist with internal controls compliance related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and ensure proper documentation of all financial activities. Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high levels of data entry accuracy and numeracy skills. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, tax preparation, and audit processes. Utilize Excel data analysis skills for financial modeling, data validation, and reporting purposes. Contribute to process improvements within accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Experience Proven accounting experience in corporate or governmental settings; public accounting experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Hands-on experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms is highly desirable. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to handle accounts payable/receivable management and bookkeeping tasks efficiently. Experience working with financial concepts related to budgeting, credit analysis, tax preparation, and non-profit accounting is advantageous. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent mathematical skills required for accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
