Job Description
We are looking for a full-time staff accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for all aspects of full-cycle accounting, including month-end closing, and acts as the backup for accounts payable and payroll processing. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and posting journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly schedules.
Essential responsibilities:
Applies knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to the preparation of journal entries, cash disbursements, cash receipts, month-end & year-end closing, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Review financial statements for accuracy and prepare all necessary accruals, amortizations, and reclassifications to complete the final monthly close package to ensure compliance with GAAP standards. Reconcile daily cash receipts, finding and correcting potential errors. Work with sales teams to correct errors initiated from all channels and on customer accounts. Analyze financial statements and prepare budget variance analysis using sound judgement and critical thinking. Participates in institutional budgeting process. Assist in maintaining storage and organization of records. Accounts Payable processing along with AP Analyst to include three-way match of merchandise invoices, vendor set up, sales tax reporting, etc. Also acts as back-up to the AP Analyst. Payroll processing back-up, using payroll software as applicable, also perform payroll related functions on an as needed basis. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related field. Five years of accounting/finance or related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. Strong organization skills. Self-starter/pro-active, and a team player with the ability to meet goals and deadlines. Detail orientated and must work effectively and efficiently under time pressure. Must have the ability to work with interruptions, strict deadlines, and minimal supervision.Preferred Qualifications CPA Pay:
