Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting PowerGrid Group companies', with accounting operations through daily account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, account analysis, month-end close activities, and financial reporting support. This full-time, in-office role works closely with the Controller, Accounting Manager, On & Off-site Accounting Personnel, Billing, Fleet, and Equipment teams to ensure accurate financial records across multiple business units. Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reconcile daily bank activity and intercompany accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and post recurring, prepaid, payroll, fuel, equipment, and month-end accrual journal entries.
  • Review general ledger activity, including R&M and Small Tools accounts, and reclassify capitalizable costs as needed.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting work papers for assigned accounts.
  • Analyze equipment, fuel, and project-related costs; coordinate with Billing, Fleet, and Equipment teams to resolve variances and ensure proper allocation.
  • Support month-end closing, fixed price reporting, job profitability reporting, and other financial analysis as needed.
  • Assist with annual audit requests, ad-hoc reporting, data entry, and other accounting projects as assigned. Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Prefer 3-5 years of accounting experience, project accounting a plus
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time to meet monthly deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of corporate financial data
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or standard ERP software (e.g. Dynamics)
  • Strong Excel skills to include Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills to collaborate with other departments and business units

$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
