Job Description:
Job purpose The purpose of the Accountant is to apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing a list of duties. Duties and responsibilities Compile information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Assist in ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly close. Assist in the daily banking requirements. Distribute expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules. Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures. Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Review, update, and process monthly financial data according to cost allocations. Assist in invoice processing Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience using QuickBooks or a similar accounting system required. Must have extensive knowledge in billing and reimbursement. Must have excellent attention to detail. Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines. Must have excellent problem-solving skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to follow instructions and respond to management direction. Education/Experience Must have three years' experience in accounting. Must have knowledge of accounting theory. Working conditions This position requires the employee be in an office environment for a set number of hours each week. This position does not require working nights or weekends. Physical requirements This position requires that the employee be able to sit for long periods of time with occasional bouts of standing and/or walking around the office. Direct reports This position is not a supervisory position.
