This position is responsible for preparing audited financial statements, performing complex account reconciliations and financial analysis, supporting audits, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for a government-funded healthcare program.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare audited financial statements and supplementary financial schedules. Ensure financial statements and reports comply with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards. Create account analysis schedules, variance explanations, and financial statement footnotes. Analyze revenue, expenses, balance sheet accounts, and income statement accounts. Prepare and update financial trending reports. Conduct quarterly revenue and expenditure reconciliations. Review data downloads and financial system reports to identify and resolve discrepancies. Assist with the annual financial statement audit and provide supporting documentation. Perform general ledger closing activities and prepare month-end financial reports. Analyze accounting records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards. Retrieve and analyze financial information using automated accounting systems and applications. Track revenues, expenditures, and contract status. Maintain and update accounting procedures and electronic financial records. Provide financial data and supporting information in response to management, auditor, and external stakeholder requests. Update KPI metrics and assist with the development and maintenance of financial dashboards. Compile monthly metrics and create graphical presentations of financial information. Summarize financial data and present findings, analyses, and recommendations to stakeholders. Evaluate accounting and business processes and recommend solutions to financial or operational issues. Advise management regarding resource utilization and assumptions underlying financial and budget forecasts. Perform other related accounting and financial duties as assigned. Driving may be required.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of GASB standards and government financial reporting. Experience preparing or supporting audited financial statements. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statements, revenue and expenditure reconciliation, and account analysis. Knowledge of internal controls and fiscal management. Experience working with automated financial/accounting systems. Strong financial research, analysis, and interpretation skills. Advanced proficiency creating and maintaining complex Microsoft Excel worksheets . Experience performing queries using Microsoft Access . Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. EOE.

$30.14 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
