Job Description
Description A great opportunity for an accountant who has outgrown transactional accounting but isn't looking to manage a team yet. A growing real estate investment company in Carlsbad is looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist to support its corporate accounting function. This position will have exposure to general ledger activity, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and entity-level accounting. You'll work closely with the Controller and accounting team to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule. Responsibilities
+ Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries
+ Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
+ Maintain general ledger accounts
+ Assist with monthly and year-end close
+ Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements
+ Review account activity and investigate discrepancies
+ Maintain prepaid, accrual, and fixed asset schedules
+ Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
+ Review accounting activity across multiple entities
+ Support financial statement preparation
+ Assist with audit and tax requests
+ Maintain accurate accounting documentation
+ Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
+ Support the Controller with special projects Requirements + 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
+ Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
+ Strong Excel skills
+ Experience with an ERP or accounting platform
+ Solid reconciliation and month-end close experience
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
