Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll allocations, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support. This role requires a highly organized, dependable professional who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and strong attention to detail.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and oversee full-cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll allocations for assigned divisionsMaintain accurate accounting records in accordance with established policies and proceduresComplete monthly bank reconciliations and prepare related financial reportsPrepare monthly cost reports, as applicableAnalyze financial data to support budgeting and fiscal planningAssist with the preparation of business and property tax returns and maintain business licensesMaintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and reportingSupport year-end audit preparation in partnership with managementUse QuickBooks Pro, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word effectively in daily workEnsure data integrity, accuracy, and security across accounting systemsProvide guidance and procedural support to finance team membersMaintain complete, accurate, and well-organized accounting documentationPrepare accounts payable reports and process approved journal entriesSubmit monthly financial reports to the Controller by the 10th of each monthManage special projects and keep leadership informed of progressProvide flexible support based on workflow and staffing needsCommunicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writingMaintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive working relationships with vendors and internal staffFollow established policies, procedures, and reporting structureHandle mail distribution and perform other duties as assigned
