We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Garden Grove, California on a Contract basis. This opportunity is well suited for an accounting specialist who is comfortable working through detailed manual processes, preparing financial entries, and supporting recurring reporting activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting fundamentals, and the ability to communicate clearly while working collaboratively with the broader team.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries accurately to support monthly and ongoing accounting activities. Perform cost roll updates within SYSPRO, ensuring careful review of data in a highly manual and detail-driven process. Assist with closing journal vouchers and verify supporting information for completeness and accuracy. Produce weekly financial and operational reports using Excel and organize data for management review. Track fixed inventory records, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate status updates with relevant stakeholders. Support general ledger activity and help maintain reliable accounting records across assigned areas. Complete account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank-related reconciliations, to identify and resolve discrepancies. Follow established procedures, respond to direction effectively, and contribute to a cooperative team environment while managing changing priorities. 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis. Working knowledge of core accounting principles, including profit and loss and balance sheet concepts. Experience preparing journal entries and supporting general ledger accounting functions. Proficiency in Excel, including the use of PivotTables and VLOOKUP. Familiarity with account reconciliation processes, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations. Experience working with SYSPRO or a similar ERP system is preferred. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
