Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Goleta, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys general ledger work, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams. The Staff Accountant will support core corporate accounting functions while gaining broad exposure to financial operations, process improvement, and audit support. The role offers meaningful visibility into accounting processes and the chance to contribute to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Manage corporate credit card accounting, reconciliations, documentation, and related expense support.
  • Assist with budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, and financial reporting activities.
  • Support Accounts Payable processes, including invoice review, coding, vendor reconciliations, and payment processing.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, payment posting, account maintenance, and customer account support.
  • Support audits, special accounting projects, and process improvement initiatives that increase accuracy and operational efficiency. Compensation and Benefits
  • Temp-to-hire or direct hire opportunity.
  • Salary range: $70,000 to $85,000 per year.

    Goleta, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and schedules.
  • Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and audit support.
  • Provide cross-functional accounting support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred for this Staff Accountant level role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, corporate accounting, and general ledger functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP or accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Preferred Qualifications
  • NetSuite experience.
  • Experience in a technology, manufacturing, or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and take on expanded responsibilities.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, and accounting efficiency initiatives.
