Full Job Description Job Description:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close functions for multiple entities within the organization. This position maintains the integrity of financial records, ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), performs financial analysis and reconciliations, and supports management with accurate and timely financial information.
HOURS:
Full-time; Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on business needs.)
Location:
Laguna Hills, California. Applicants must reside within a 30 mile radius of the headquarters in Laguna Hills, CA.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities for multiple entities. Prepares, reviews, and reconciles journal entries, general ledger accounts, and supporting schedules. Maintains and reconciles complex general ledger accounts, including cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, debt, and intercompany balances. Prepares monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses. Analyzes financial results, trends, and variances and communicates findings and recommendations to management. Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and appropriate accounting guidance to financial transactions and reporting. Researches and interprets accounting guidance, regulations, and industry best practices as needed. Coordinates and reconciles intercompany transactions among affiliated entities. Assists with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities. Reviews accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Coordinates annual financial statement audits and prepares supporting schedules and documentation for auditors, tax preparers, lenders, and regulatory agencies. Evaluates accounting processes and internal controls and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Supports accounting system maintenance, data integrity, financial software initiatives, and process improvements. Participates in accounting projects related to acquisitions, new physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and other organizational initiatives. Provides guidance, training, and support to accounting staff regarding accounting procedures and best practices. Maintains confidentiality of financial, employee, patient, and proprietary business information. Communicates professionally with management, physicians, employees, auditors, financial institutions, vendors, and other business partners. Performs other duties as required by the position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience required. Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation required. Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting required. Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions preferred. Healthcare, physician practice, ambulatory surgery center, or healthcare services experience preferred. Experience supporting financial audits and regulatory compliance preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required. Experience with accounting and financial software systems preferred.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and internal controls. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and financial analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to analyze complex financial information and provide recommendations to management. Ability to manage multiple entities, competing priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in applying accounting principles. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, operational leaders, auditors, and other business partners. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive financial, employee, patient, and proprietary information. Familiarity with accounting and financial systems such as QuickBooks, Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, ADP, Sage, or similar platforms preferred.
