Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Analyze bank activity, ledger detail, and supporting financial records to detect inconsistencies and confirm the validity of transactions.
- Lead balance sheet reconciliation efforts and correct account-level issues to improve the reliability of financial reporting.
- Research questionable journal entries, determine appropriate corrections, and document findings clearly.
- Rebuild incomplete accounting documentation and establish stronger recordkeeping practices for ongoing use.
- Examine prior-period transactions and assist with evaluating tax-related records for completeness and accuracy.
- Update QuickBooks Enterprise with omitted charges, missing entries, and other outstanding financial activity.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to organize billing records, identify gaps, and restore proper account access where needed.
- Partner with leadership to address legacy accounting problems and reinforce internal financial controls.
- Help develop more consistent month-end close, reconciliation, and reporting procedures for future accounting cycles.
