Senior accountant

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionKey Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations. Supervise and support a team of three accounting staff. Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Ensure accurate recording of transactions under cash basis and accrual basis accounting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and/or individual tax returns. Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations. Coordinate with external CPAs or tax advisors as needed. Assist with year-end closing and audit preparation. Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting and tax standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of cash basis and accrual basis accounting. Experience preparing corporate, partnership, or individual tax returns. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel. CPA license or progress toward CPA preferred. Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
