This job is 100% in-office! The client is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented accountant that has experience in real estate or property management. The role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, producing financials, and performing various accounting tasks for a portfolio of properties for both commercial and residential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a stable, dynamic and growing real estate organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow for multiple properties.
  • Prepare and submit monthly rent invoices and ensure timely rent collection.
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify variances and trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conduct monthly analysis of property expenses and provide recommendations for cost savings.
  • Coordinate with property managers and other team members to resolve accounting-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audits
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field would be nice to have but professional accounting experience in real estate/property management is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate or property accounting.
  • Software experience with Yardi or AppFolio is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong with accrual accounting
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
3 years of property accounting experience (Staff Accountant, Property Accountant, Real Estate Accountant)
