WHERE ACCOUNTING MEETS THE FACTORY FLOOR. A
growing manufacturing company in San Marcos is looking for a Cost Accountant to join its accounting team and help leadership understand exactly where money is being spent throughout the production process. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys numbers, analysis, inventory, and problem-solving and wants a role that goes beyond traditional transactional accounting. You'll work closely with Finance, Operations, Purchasing, and Production to understand costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
YOUR MISSION
+ Analyze manufacturing costs and production expenses
+ Maintain standard and actual cost information
+ Assist with inventory accounting and valuation
+ Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs
+ Investigate production variances
+ Prepare monthly cost reports
+ Perform inventory reconciliations
+ Assist with month-end close
+ Review manufacturing transactions for accuracy
+ Analyze cost trends and identify unusual activity
+ Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to production costs
+ Partner with Operations to understand cost fluctuations
+ Support annual physical inventory processes
+ Assist with financial reporting and management analysis
+ Maintain accurate cost accounting records
+ Recommend process improvements when opportunities are identified Requirements + 2-5 years of accounting experience
+ Cost accounting or manufacturing experience preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ Strong Excel skills
+ Understanding of inventory accounting
+ Experience with an ERP system
+ Strong analytical abilities
+ Comfortable working with detailed financial information
+ Excellent attention to detail
