Job Description

We're a dynamic and growing real estate management company that specializes in managing a portfolio of residential commercial properties. As we expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team and support the continued financial health of our organization.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting for multiple properties. This role requires a strong understanding of property accounting, budgeting, and financial compliance within the real estate management industry. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate monthly and year-end closings Prepare and analyze financial statements Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow tracking Oversee property-level accounting, including rent rolls, tenant ledgers, accounts reconciliations Coordinate with property managers to track expenses and resolve discrepancies Assist with external audits and annual tax filings Maintain and improve accounting systems and internal controls Support implementation of new software tools and accounting procedures
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in real estate or property management Strong knowledge of GAAPand property accounting principles Experience with real estate accounting software, Proficiency in AppFolio is required Advanced Excel skills and ability to create custom financial reports Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in one or more additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, etc.) is highly valued
Preferred Skills:
Experience with budgeting and financial reporting for large real estate portfolios Knowledge of real estate financial metrics (e.g., NOI, cap rate, IRR) Experience working with property managers and asset managers
