Job Description:
CooperDouglas is partnering with a privately held, family-owned retail and service company to hire a Staff Accountant. This is a hands-on role in a high-volume, transaction-heavy environment, with strong day-to-day involvement in reconciliations, AR, and AP. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Controller and have room to grow as the company scales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations Reconcile daily cash across multiple retail locations Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable Assist with general ledger maintenance across multiple corporate entities Prepare and organize supporting schedules and workpapers Help with variance review against budget and actuals Support audit requests and documentation Flag process gaps and help improve accounting workflows
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2 to 4 years of accounting experience, ideally in retail, multi-location, or multi-entity settings Strong Excel skills, including vlookups, pivot tables, and sorting and analyzing data Comfortable with high transaction volume and heavy reconciliation work Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple entities and priorities Experience with Great Plains, NetSuite, or QuickBooks is a plus Team player who fits a low-key culture but will speak up and bring ideas forward
