Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and analyze account activity to identify discrepancies or anomalies. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities in accordance with corporate policies and GAAP standards. Assist with internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures, audit preparation, and documentation. Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, and other financial tools to perform data entry and reporting tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements. Skills Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is a plus. Proficiency in financial concepts such as account analysis, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, debits & credits. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency). Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and account analysis efficiently. Knowledge of payroll systems like Kronos or UltiPro for payroll processing support. Strong understanding of internal controls related to SOX compliance; experience with audit procedures is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data accurately while maintaining confidentiality. Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external auditors; strong math skills for financial calculations. Pay:

$58,751.51 - $62,754.51 per year
