Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and supporting period-end close processes.
- Process accounts payable transactions, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure vendors are paid correctly and on time.
- Manage accounts receivable activity by applying payments, tracking outstanding balances, and following up on open items as needed.
- Assist with corporate tax compliance efforts, including gathering information for filings and supporting corporate tax return preparation.
- Handle sales tax-related work by reviewing taxable transactions, compiling data, and helping with timely filings.
- Reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolve variances through careful analysis.
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to improve record accuracy and support reporting requirements. Requirements
- Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting position with responsibility for day-to-day financial transactions.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and preparation of journal entries.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Familiarity with corporate tax and sales tax support activities, including filing preparation.
- Ability to review financial data carefully, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reconciliations and reporting.
