Accounting Position Summary:
The Junior Accountant is an entry-level member of the Accounting team responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting activities and maintaining accurate financial records. This position will assist with accounts payable, account reconciliations, general ledger activities, month-end processes, and other accounting functions as assigned. This role is designed for a recent graduate or individual early in their accounting career who is looking to develop practical accounting experience and grow their knowledge within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist with accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor account maintenance. Assist with general ledger entries and routine account reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Review accounting records and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Research and assist in resolving basic accounting discrepancies. Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Prepare basic accounting reports and schedules as requested. Assist with bank and other balance sheet reconciliations. Support inventory and cost accounting activities as assigned. Assist with internal and external audit requests by gathering supporting documentation. Work with other departments to obtain information needed to process and record financial transactions. Maintain organized accounting files and records in accordance with company procedures. Learn and utilize the company's ERP and accounting systems. Provide general support to the Accounting team and take on additional accounting responsibilities as knowledge and experience develop. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic understanding of accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability and willingness to learn ERP and accounting systems. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities. Strong willingness to learn and develop within the accounting field.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Entry-level position; prior professional accounting experience is not required. Internship, co-op, or other relevant accounting experience is preferred but not required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment:
Office-based environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor or other company locations as necessary.
Physical Demands:
Primarily sedentary work; occasional standing, walking, and lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for extended hours or weekends as needed to support company operations.
