The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting project accounting, maintaining accurate job cost data, and ensuring timely and accurate billing across multiple construction projects. Why You'll Love This Opportunity Join a collaborative and supportive construction accounting team Opportunity to grow your career as a Staff Accountant in a project-based environment Work directly with project managers and operations teams Gain deeper exposure to job costing, AIA billing, and construction financials Fast-paced environment with strong growth potential Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant As a Staff Accountant , you will: Maintain and support job cost accounting , ensuring costs are accurately tracked by project Assist with preparation and submission of AIA billing and progress billings Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and billing Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Support accounts payable and accounts receivable related to construction projects Review project financials, including budgets vs. actuals and cost-to-complete Assist with change order tracking and integration into job cost reporting Prepare financial reports and analysis for management Support audit preparation and provide required documentation Help maintain internal controls and improve accounting processes Preferred Qualifications of the Staff Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant , preferably in construction or project-based accounting Strong experience with job costing (required) Experience with AIA billing or construction billing processes (strongly preferred) Familiarity with construction accounting systems (Sage or similar preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP and project-based financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines as a Staff Accountant #
