Exempt/Salaried Overview This position serves an Accountant under the direction of the Pastor. This position will handle various aspects of recordkeeping and administrative work both financial and non-financial. Job Responsibilities Interacts with Diocesan Human Resources Department and Internal Finance Department; attends all meetings as requested. Acts as liaison between parish and the diocese. Works with diocesan payroll to insure timely input for payroll changes Ensures that all timekeeping is properly approved and submitted on a bi-weekly basis Supports the Pastor regarding the parish budget. Records deposits into QuickBooks and reconciles bank statements monthly. Enters all approved invoices into Quickbooks. Processes all payments on a timely basis. Interacts with Diocesan Internal Finance Department; attends all meetings as requested. Schedules, prepare, and attends quarterly Finance Council Meetings Prepares Annual Income Statement for the bulletin. Records weekly parishioner contributions. Maintain filing systems both hard copy and electronic. Maintain any records or lists required by the parish. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
AA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. 3-5 year's experience in a similar position. In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks. Bilingual (English & Spanish), preferred. Experience with an automated payroll/timekeeping system. Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (word, power point, excel). Ability to manage indirect and direct reports through strong leadership skills Critical thinker, ability to provide analytical approach in fiscal matters Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Able to handle multi-task simultaneously and work independently. Must pass competency test provided by the DOV
