Job Description A company in the Melbourne area is looking for a Corporate Accountant III to support a growing finance team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for performing complex accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and providing analysis to drive business decisions. This role is a 6 month contract to potential hire It is hybrid 2 days in person 3 days remote 5 days a week m-f 8-5

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries in compliance with GAAP
• Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning (including 3-year plans)
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Provide audit support for internal and external audits, including financial and compliance audits Analyze intercompany transactions and ensure proper accounting
• Review expense reports, invoices, and payment requests for accuracy and proper coding
• Assist in preparation of annual financial reporting packages and supporting schedules
• Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to deliver financial insights
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of professional accounting experience
• Experience in government contracting accounting preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and CAS
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of accounting systems
• Experience with Costpoint
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines

Compensation:

$35

• 37 an hour.
