Accounting Operations | Temporary-to-Permanent
TEMP-TO-PERM OPPORTUNITY
This position will begin as a temporary assignment with the opportunity to transition to a regular full-time role based on performance and business needs. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Transaction Specialist to support accounting and financial operations. This role manages financial reconciliations, vendor remittances, payment processing, accounting operations, and data integrity across multiple financial systems. The Transaction Specialist partners with internal teams, clients, and vendors to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and ensure accurate movement of financial data while supporting month-end accounting activities.
Ideal candidate:
Hands-on QuickBooks experience, strong reconciliation and analytical skills, advanced Excel ability, and an interest in improving processes through technology and automation. What You'll Do
- Process vendor remittances and payment files accurately and according to company procedures.
- Perform complex reconciliations across operational systems, accounting records, vendor statements, customer accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Research and resolve payment, remittance, cost, and account discrepancies with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including payment allocations, adjustments, and account maintenance.
- Import, validate, reconcile, and maintain financial data across multiple systems.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks and other accounting or operational systems.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, reconciliation schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation, reporting, and process enhancements.
- Develop and maintain reports or dashboards using Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Support special accounting and operational projects as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of accounting operations experience, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and payment processing.
- QuickBooks Online experience or experience with comparable accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams. Preferred Experience
- SQL for data analysis, validation, or reporting.
- Power BI or other business intelligence/reporting tools.
- Python or other automation technologies.
- Legal collections, legal accounting, or financial servicing operations.
- QLAW or QLAW-E case management software.
- High-volume financial transaction reconciliation across multiple systems.
