Lake Mary, FL Headquarters Work Schedule:
Must be able to work 25 hours a week minimum. During School students can work a max of 28 hours a week during business hours and During school Breaks and Summer can work up to 40 hours a week as needed if not taking over 12+ credits for Summer. (We will work around your school schedule).Length of Internship:
1 Year Minimum and could extend longer OR turn into a full-time position with approved headcount. Target start date is end of September beginning of October and must be able to work over the Summer. Role Overview The Accounting Intern is an integral member of the Controllership team, participating in day-to-day accounting and reporting processes, and controls over internal and external financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership. Assist with preparation of month-end close journal entries (accruals, cash transfers, AP reclasses, and prepaids). Support monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting (AP, AR, and cash flows). Assist with preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances. Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures. Maintain active task lists and assist with coordination of audit requests. Requirements Currently in Junior or Senior year enrolled in a four-year college or university and in pursuit of a bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting. Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels. Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
