Starting at $55,000 per yearAbout the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team and support the accounting needs of homeowner and condominium associations. This role requires strong accounting skills, with a particular emphasis on accrual accounting, general ledger management, journal entries, and monthly financial reporting.

Experienced candidates are strongly preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage high-volume accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, and monthly financial statements.

Prepare and maintain monthly financials using accrual-based accounting principles.

Post assessments, capital contributions, and other fees accurately.

Prepare monthly invoices and statements.

Post interest and late fees to delinquent accounts and assist with soft collections.

Ensure all payments are posted accurately and timely.

Process vendor payments and prepare checks.

Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

Reconcile monthly vendor statements and related transactions.

Verify vendor documentation, including Certificates of Liability Insurance and W-9 forms.

Maintain and monitor prepaid schedules and accounts payable.

Assist auditors by providing required documentation, reports, and adjustments.

Maintain accurate and confidential financial records and information.

Provide general administrative and customer service support as needed.

Required Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting experience.

Previous experience in accounting, preferably supporting homeowner or condominium associations.

Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and monthly financial statement preparation.

Experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable, reconciliations, and journal entries.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent data entry and computer skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to analyze financial information and resolve discrepancies.

Strong vendor relationship and communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to handle high-volume work while meeting deadlines.

CINC and Avid Strongroom experience is a plus.
