APP Jet Center is a multi-location Fixed Base Operator (FBO) providing aviation services to private and corporate aircraft, including fueling, hangar services, ground support, and other aviation-related services. This position will be based at our Stuart, Florida location at Witham Field.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash reconciliations, general ledger activities, and month-end close. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily recording of cash receipts and reconciliations Maintenance of accounts receivable Maintenance of accounts payable Calculate and process state sales taxes Monthly closing process, including balance sheet reconciliations and expense analyses Perform/assist with other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of principles and practices of accrual accounting. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Strong computer systems skills, including proficiency in business and accounting computer software, as well as Excel. Must possess critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment and decision-making abilities. Must be detail-oriented and organized. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information. An independent, self-motivated individual excited to contribute to our team. Strong computer systems skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks, with preference for QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite a plus Competence in Excel and exposure to Claude for Accounting and Finance a plus.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university in accounting or related field. Familiarity with accounting systems a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Three to five years of related accounting experience.
