President Job Summary Mr. Handyman Serving Vero Beach to Jupiter is seeking a high-energy, experienced Staff Accountant & Financial Analyst to join our growing team in our Stuart office. This position will work and report directly to the President and will be responsible for hands-on accounting, financial reporting, KPI analysis, forecasting, job-costing support, and coordination with our outside accounting firm. We are a fast-paced and rapidly growing home-service company looking for someone who takes ownership, works with urgency, understands the numbers behind a business, and can turn financial data into useful information for executive decision-making. This is an in-office position and is not remote. Responsibilities Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online Reconcile bank, credit-card, loan, and merchant-processing accounts Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Track overdue customer balances and assist with collections Review payroll reports and maintain supporting documentation Track job costs, including labor, materials, subcontractors, permits, and other project expenses Compare estimated versus actual job costs Monitor job profitability and gross margins Prepare monthly financial and KPI reports for the President Analyze revenue, gross margin, labor costs, average ticket, technician performance, receivables, and cash flow Prepare budget-versus-actual reporting Assist with cash-flow forecasting and revenue forecasting Identify discrepancies, negative trends, and areas requiring attention Review operating expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability Review vendor pricing, material expenses, overtime, subscriptions, fees, and other overhead for potential savings Help evaluate large purchases, equipment, vehicles, financing, and other major expenses Work directly with the company's outside accounting firm Respond to routine accounting requests and provide supporting documentation Prepare records for monthly closing, quarterly reviews, year-end accounting, and tax reporting Prepare financial reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint Financial Reporting & KPI Analysis The candidate should understand business KPIs and be comfortable tracking and reporting on: Revenue Gross profit and gross margin Net income Cash flow Accounts receivable and accounts payable Payroll and labor costs Material and subcontractor costs Job profitability Technician performance Average ticket Budget versus actual Month-over-month performance Year-over-year performance Accounts receivable aging Cash position Cost-saving opportunities Financial trends and concerns The goal is not only to prepare reports, but to explain what the numbers mean, identify risks and opportunities, and provide useful financial insight to the President. Qualifications 3+ years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience QuickBooks Online experience is required Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and report creation Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills Experience preparing financial and management reports Understanding of KPIs, job costing, gross margin, and profitability Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable Experience with bank and credit-card reconciliations Ability to analyze financial information and identify trends or discrepancies Strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment High-energy, proactive, and organized Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be comfortable working directly with the President Must work well with an outside accounting firm ServiceTitan experience is a plus Construction, home-service, or field-service accounting experience is a plus Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Is high energy and proactive Takes ownership and follows through Works with urgency without sacrificing accuracy Is organized and dependable Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines Understands financial and operational KPIs Can create clear financial reports and presentations Can turn financial data into useful business information Identifies problems instead of simply recording transactions Looks for opportunities to improve profitability and save the company money Is comfortable asking questions and digging into discrepancies Can work independently without constant supervision Wants to grow with a rapidly expanding company Growth Opportunity This position is designed for someone who wants to grow with the company. The role will begin as a Staff Accountant & Financial Analyst with responsibility for accounting, reporting, forecasting, KPI analysis, job-costing support, and outside accounting coordination. As the individual demonstrates strong performance, accuracy, initiative, leadership, and the ability to take ownership of the company's financial processes, there will be an opportunity for increased responsibility and advancement into a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager position. Compensation $65,000-$75,000 per year, based on experience, plus performance bonus opportunity The performance bonus may be tied to measurable results such as: Timely and accurate financial reporting Improved collections and accounts receivable Cost-saving initiatives Forecast accuracy Job-costing accuracy KPI reporting and analysis Reduction of accounting discrepancies Improved financial controls Support of company profitability goals Candidates with strong financial analysis, job-costing, construction/home-service accounting, and ServiceTitan experience may be considered toward the higher end of the salary range.
