Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities by maintaining the general ledger, recording journal entries, and completing account reconciliations.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures to ensure financial records are complete and accurate.
- Prepare financial statements, management summaries, and performance reports for leadership review.
- Reconcile banking activity, credit card transactions, and key balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow trends to support sound financial operations.
- Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to validate reimbursements, patient payments, contractual adjustments, and write-offs.
- Analyze provider output, collections, patient activity, and other practice metrics to identify financial trends and performance drivers.
- Assist with budget development, forecasting, audit support, tax-related preparation, and process improvements that strengthen controls and reporting accuracy. Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a medical practice, physician group, outpatient clinic, or broader healthcare setting.
- Hands-on experience with general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting support, and variance analysis in an operational business environment.
- Familiarity with revenue cycle concepts, including reimbursements, collections, adjustments, and payment reconciliation.
- Experience working with EMR or practice management systems to review financial and operational data.
- Understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and related tax support activities.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to cross-functional teams.
