Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will handle key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. This position is based in Duluth, Georgia, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update the general ledger by preparing and posting accurate journal entries.
• Reconcile various accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash accounts.
• Ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts through periodic reviews and reconciliations.
• Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Oversee sales tax filings and resolve any discrepancies in tax reporting.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing any inquiries.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
