Position Overview:
This position is responsible for maintaining and analyzing the integrity of the general ledger, subsystems, and manufacturing data related to inventory. This role is crucial in the forecasting and budgeting process, as well as in analyzing profit margins for financial reporting and pricing decisions. This person will lead, motivate and train a team of accountants and/or analysts.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage the standard cost system for manufactured products. Monitor and finalize the manufacturing work order process into inventory. Review, correct, and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare and analyze monthly gross profit reports. Develop metrics for analyzing operating results. Maintain general ledger (G/L) accounts associated with inventory and ensure they are balanced with inventory subsystems across multiple plants. Manage variance reserves and expenses including purchase price variance, standard revaluation, usage variances, and overhead variances. Coordinate the flow of general ledger data through the system. Prepare journal entries, schedules, and reports for the monthly Operating Financial Package. Develop monthly forecasted gross profit. Assist in preparing audit schedules and the annual budget. Calculate elimination entries for inter-company inventory in both dollars and units. Process manufacturing transactions for off-site facilities. Audit and assist in periodic physical inventories at multiple locations. Leads special projects and drives process improvement
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Experience with AS400 or Dynamics highly preferred Proficiency in PC operations, Windows applications, and Excel Experience with Power BI preferred Excellent organizational and communication skills Experience in standard cost accounting
