Our Goal We are looking for a well-educated and experienced Accounting Professional for an important hands-on role in the accounting operations of our growing and very busy small business. About Us Private Paradise Villas (PPV) is a locally owned and operated luxury vacation rental management company offering exceptional homes and villas for visitor accommodations on Maui. For more than 30 years, we have operated a solid dependable business that features high-touch service, strong relationships, attention to detail, and unequalled property care quality. About the Position This is more than a data-entry or simple accounting position. We are looking for someone who understands accounting principles, pays attention to the details, takes ownership of their work, and is capable of learning the work performed in all positions in accounting while confidently managing all responsibilities and timelines on a consistent basis. What You'll Do The Senior Accountant will work closely with management and will be responsible for a broad range of accounting activities. Tasks may include performing or supervising a mix of activities such as ... Manage and maintain accurate day-to-day accounting records Process guest payments, refunds, deposits, invoices, and security deposit reconciliations Accurately enter and review reservation-related financial transactions Review and process vendor invoices and expenses Monitor outstanding balances and assist with accounts receivable Assist with month-end close and financial reporting Review transactions for accuracy and completeness Research discrepancies and follow through to resolution Assist with owner statements, billing, and related accounting processes Handle guest-paid tax GET/TAT filings and other tax reporting New property or improvement project reconciliations What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative member of a small team. A professional with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience Is proficient in QuickBooks Desktop Has advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Understands accounting principles and practices Has experience with reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end procedures Is comfortable working with multiple accounts, transactions, and deadlines Has strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, in particular with regards to coding expenses Takes initiative and follows tasks through to completion Can identify problems, investigate them, and help find solutions Able to prioritize competing responsibilities Communicates simply, clearly and professionally Is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment Documented accounting related education Consistent work history with verifiable references Able to be bonded and pass background checks Please apply to join us if you feel this best describes your work habits: You are someone who notices when something doesn't look correct, asks questions when needed, and do not simply pass an issue along. Schedule & Location Full-time 35-40 hours per week Monday-Friday Flexible schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. In-person position on Maui in our comfortable and attractive clean and modern office in Kihei Compensation & Benefits Salary depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay:
