Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Your expertise will help maintain smooth financial operations, facilitate reporting, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about the arts and community as well as, accounting systems, data analysis, and financial management to make a meaningful impact. Responsibilities Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, accounts payable and receivable management, and bank reconciliations QuickBooks. Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Reconcile balance sheets and perform account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial statements. Manage payroll processing using systems like ADP, UltiPro, Ceridian, or Kronos while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Assist with month-end closing procedures, including balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. Utilize Microsoft Office tools such as Excel for data analysis, spreadsheet management, and report generation to support financial decision-making. Skills Strong proficiency in QuickBooks. Experience with Non-Profit accounting principles, governmental accounting practices, and public accounting standards. Expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet analysis. Ability to perform Excel data analysis efficiently using spreadsheets for budgeting, account analysis, and financial reporting. Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail in handling complex financial concepts. Effective communication skills for customer service interactions related to accounts receivable/payable inquiries. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining accuracy.
