Description We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join a finance team in Addison, Illinois, on a Long-term Contract assignment. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is organized, accurate, and comfortable handling a broad range of day-to-day accounting tasks in a fast-moving setting. The role will contribute to payables, reconciliations, transaction recording, and close support while working with internal teams to help maintain reliable financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring each transaction is reviewed, coded correctly, and entered within established timelines.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors to address billing questions, maintain current vendor files, and support scheduled payment processing.
• Record bank and corporate card activity in the accounting records and keep documentation organized for audit readiness and tracking purposes.
• Monitor daily cash movements and confirm that all transactions are reflected accurately in the general ledger.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card accounts, and revenue deposits from multiple sales and marketplace channels.
• Research outstanding reconciling items, resolve discrepancies promptly, and help reinforce sound financial controls.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close by preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analysis.
• Contribute to financial reporting, audit support requests, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and leadership teams.
• Maintain orderly accounting files and participate in process improvements, ad hoc reporting, and other finance-related projects as needed.

The salary range for this position is $22/hr to $26/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. • At least 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable functions.
• Working knowledge of core accounting practices, including reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end close activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use pivot tables and lookup formulas effectively.
• Experience handling bank reconciliations, credit card account review, and general ledger transaction recording.
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to accuracy, documentation, and deadlines.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software or ERP platforms is preferred.
