Senior Accountant

Full-Time Accounting and Finance Downers Grove, IL Company Overview A private equity-owned Software-as-a Service (SaaS) organization headquartered in Downers Grove seeks a career focused, Senior Accountant for its team. The company operates in a high-growth, performance-driven environment focused on scalability, operational efficiency, and value creation.

Position Summary:

This role reports directly to the company's Controller and plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting. This position is responsible for executing core accounting functions, supporting the monthly and quarterly close processes, and maintaining compliance with

U.S. GAAP.

The role requires a highly detail-oriented professional with strong technical accounting expertise, experience in fast-paced environments, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive operational and financial performance. The Senior Accountant is expected to contribute to process improvements and support initiatives aligned with private equity ownership priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

Executes the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to strict deadlines

Prepares and reviews journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with

U.S. GAAP

Maintains the integrity of the general ledger and ensures proper classification and recording of financial transactions

Leads the preparation of internal financial reporting packages for management and private equity stakeholders

Supports external audit processes by coordinating with auditors and preparing required documentation and analyses

Analyzes financial results, identifies variances, and provides insights to support informed business decisions

Drives process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy within the accounting function

Supports budgeting and forecasting activities by providing historical financial data and analysis

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA designation strongly preferred

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including Big Four or nationally recognized public accounting firm experience

Experience operating in a private equity-backed environment or high-growth SaaS organization preferred

Demonstrated ability to manage and meet tight monthly and quarterly deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP systems experience, preferred

Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership

Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable solutions

Compensation:

$85,000 - $110,000 plus bonus potential
