Job Description

This is a grant-funded position contingent upon the renewal of the grant. Initial funding is for five years. The Staff Accountant position provides accounting and analytical support for private grant-related activities supported by the Business Office. The Staff Accountant assists with all business office transactions related to the School s private and institutional grant activities including but not limited to accounts payable, general ledger transactions, reconciliation, and reporting. Support of other business office activities is also provided by this position, as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:
Review all private grant-related transactions, including accounts payable, credit card payments, and other expenditures, to ensure compliance with grantor requirements and approved budget parameters. Assist grant managers and program directors with inquiries, and follow-up requests related to administration and financial matters. Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reports and other financial reports as assigned by the department and grant managers. Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with preparation of financial statements and schedules for internal and external reporting according to the grantor guidelines. Assist with preparation of budget proposals and approved budget entries. Assist with preparation of reconciliations and documentation for annual external audit. Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance, and internal policies and procedures. Other duties, both grant-related and non-grant-related, as assigned.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor s degree in accounting or related field. 1-3 years of accounting/general ledger experience.
Experience:
Experience with ERP systems. Experience working in higher education and/or other not-for-profit settings.
