Position OverviewOur Client is seeking a growth-oriented and detail-focused Accountant to join its established Springfield, Illinois office. This individual will play a key role in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and tax planning strategies while working closely with clients to provide exceptional accounting and advisory services.



The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements while consistently meeting deadlines during both tax season and throughout the year.



Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Statement PreparationPrepare accurate financial statements using QuickBooks.



Review financial records for accuracy and completeness.



Maintain organized client accounting records.



Assist clients with bookkeeping and financial reporting needs.



Tax Preparation & PlanningPrepare individual and business tax returns.



Develop tax projections and planning strategies.



Research tax issues and apply current tax regulations.



Assist clients with tax-saving opportunities and compliance.



Client ServiceRespond professionally to client inquiries regarding accounting and tax matters.



Handle tax-related correspondence with taxing authorities.



Build and maintain long-term client relationships.



Provide exceptional client service with professionalism and confidentiality.



Accounting OperationsManage multiple client engagements simultaneously.



Ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time.



Maintain compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.



Support firm-wide initiatives and continuous process improvements.



Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.



ExperienceExperience preparing financial statements.



Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.



Experience with tax planning and tax projections preferred.



Public accounting experience is preferred.
