$85,000 - $110,000 + bonus About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the Chicago, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will play a key part in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ongoing accounting operations. The Senior Accountant will work closely with accounting leadership and business partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in general accounting and financial reporting, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with public accounting experience and/or progressive corporate accounting backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate variances Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit engagements Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Assist with the development and enhancement of accounting procedures and internal controls Support process improvement and automation initiatives Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial information and business support Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups Experience working within ERP systems CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Preferred Background Public accounting experience and/or corporate accounting experience Experience within manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, real estate, professional services, or other operationally focused industries Exposure to financial statement preparation and audit support Experience handling fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions Demonstrated career progression and professional growth Stable work history with increasing levels of responsibility Benefits Competitive compensation and bonus opportunity Comprehensive benefits package 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidays Hybrid work flexibility available with many opportunities Exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional business initiatives Opportunities for professional development and career advancement LHH Recruitment Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
