VPC Finance & Admin Position Purpose/Summary:
The Staff Accountant performs a variety of transactional accounting and reporting functions. A significant contributor for accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements, as well as business unit performance analysis. This position applies solid accounting principles and processes knowledge to gather and utilize ERP system data for analysis. Also provides general ledger schedule maintenance and completes all tasks assigned with an understanding of how such transactions impact the financial statements such as accruals, depreciation, intercompany reconciliations, GL coding, and others. Direct Reports None Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Perform journal entries to record financial information from source documents. Properly coding transactions within the general ledger. Maintains general ledger schedules. Timely produces accurate reporting for monthly, quarterly and year-end close periods. Performs reconciliations for accrual, prepaid and other balance sheet accounts. Assists with fixed assets and leases accounting. Monitors and analyzes departmental efficiency specific to procedures, workflow, and processes to maintain a high accuracy and confidentiality level. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-going outcome that is measurable (minimum of 3) Accounting records and financial statements meet organization and legal requirements in both timeliness and accuracy. Add value through analysis and insight so that management may make informed decisions. Maintain or improve days to close. Contribute to finance team objectives in support of continuous improvement.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities Education:
Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; equivalent work experience required. Accounting or Finance certifications helpful.
Experience:
3 -5 years Transaction based accounting in an ERP system. Practical knowledge of GAAP and ability to recognize financial statement impact represented by underlying entries. Participated in financial audit data gathering, reporting, and explanation. Self-motivated and self-directed to meet business needs and expectations. Holds high personal standards and takes action to identify and avoid errors. Demonstrated proficiency in attention to detail. Professional attitude and demeanor Proven reliability as an individual contributor and team member. Works effectively in a team environment; able to adapt to the needs of others. Identify and resolve discrepancies. Confident and comfortable prioritizing tasks. Willing to learn and contribute towards team success. Displays ethics and integrity at all times.
Technology/Software:
Competence in using ERP software in an accounting capacity. Advanced Excel. MS Dynamics/Navision experience a plus. Thorough competency in accounting entries, following procedures in accordance with the internal control environment.

Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Able to explain complex transactions to inform decisions. Produce concise data illustrations (charts, graphs, tables). Physical Capabilities (add lines as needed) Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion): Movement (standing, stopping, sitting, crouching, crawling): Able to sit for extend length of time, using a computer and keyboard. Hearing (loud noise tolerance, quiet work area, public speaking, receive work direction): Ability to receive information in a variable environment by various categories of people. Vision (judge distance, read signs, extended computer work, identify details): Capable to read and identify information for the purpose of creating best work.
